Sustainable embedded academic literacy development: the gradual handover of literacy teaching

This study reports on a four-year project to embed academic literacy within one core course of Bachelor Education program. It involves an interdisciplinary collaboration between learning advisors, as specialists, and lecturers, subject specialists. examines their roles responsibilities lecturers’ perspectives when handing over the teaching them. Data encompasses interviews with meeting notes, cohort statistics about assessment grades. Discourse analysis theory from Systemic Functional Linguistics identifies shifting contributions collaborators how lecturers evaluate experiences. Findings suggest that handover is smooth it done gradually intensive prior collaboration. However, contrasting views raise questions what optimal for students. Although limited, data indicates reductions in resubmission rates students achieving minimal passing range co-occur addition mini videos reading writing critically.
